About The Owners

Our names are Shawn and Virginia. We moved to Antioch, Illinois, about ten years ago—Virginia from the North side of Chicago, and Shawn claims Woodridge, Illinois. We have had a few other businesses that did quite well and have always dreamed about owning a bar ( for at least the last eight years). Over the years, we have looked at many places but could not find the “right” place. We looked at this current location several times, but the timing was never right. We are thrilled that “NOW” was the right time for us to be able to open and bring ALL NEW to Fox Lake. Route 12 Bar and Grill.

THE BAR

This building has been a ” BAR” for many, many, many years. It has gone through at least five different owners and many other names. Virginia and I walked into a building that was, to say the least, run down and outdated. We could completely remodel the bar’s interior within a few months and bring new life to an “old bar.” When you walk into the all-new Route 12 Bar and Grill, you are immediately greeted with a smile. From your first steps into the building, you will see the cleanliness and significant changes that we did; from the updated painted walls and new flooring to the addition of a brand new glycol 14-tap beer system, this place is ready to impress.
